INTER HOUSE ENGLISH DEBATE COMPETETION TOPIC: IS WOMEN EMPOWERMENT BECOMING REALITY ?

The Vidyalaya promises to provide a valuable foundation in the building up of not only academic excellence but also character an overall growth of the students.Co-curricular activities form an integral part of the school curriculum and a good number of students participate in some activity or the other so as to top their innate potential.

The Vidyalaya is divided into houses. Regular inter house competitions are held in dance, music, recitation, calligraphy, drawing, painting, debates and declamation etc.The idea is to inculcate a sense of healthy competition. Inter house competitions are held ensuring mass participation.

DISHA CLUB 1. The Disha club of the Vidyalaya organised a workshop on “Effective communication” on 28.04.2012. It was an interactive session and students actively participated in this workshop. It was emphasized in this workshop that good communication skills help in developing the personality of the students. 2. A workshop on “ Health and Medicine” for the students VI and VII was organized on 05.05.2012 3.A counselling cum interactive session for class VIII girls was organized on 23.04.2012 where DR.(Mrs.) Anita Arora explained the problems faced by adolescents and discussed solutions for those problems. 4. A workshop based on learning disabilities and drug abuse amongst children and parents was organized on 06.07.2012. The ways to identify and deal effectively with such children were discussed. 5. On 18.08.2012 an orientation cum counseling session was organized for the parents of class XII students. Mrs. Saveera Bahl the counsellor motivated the students for behavioral and social attitudes.
